Goodnight, Little Buddy . . .

Today I had to tell my little buddy Taylor good-bye.

He came to live with Aubrey and me on September 12, 1992. He has been our companion and brought so much joy to our lives for the past 15 years. He will be greatly missed.

Is he a cute baby boy, or what?

After I had Aubrey for a year and a half, I told the breeder I wanted a black & tan long-haired male dachshund puppy. She didn't have any at the time, but she took my order, and eventually Taylor was born. Hence his registered name, Blount's Taylor Made.

Remember his smile? He was always timid when he first met you but would always "smile" at you. Then once he warmed up to you he would lick, and lick, and lick... I couldn't stand him to lick me, especially my toes! Thank you Taylor for the joys you brought to all of us and especially to Nathan. When he chased you he was loving you and playing with you! Now, you can play with Nathan's sister, Angel Ruth, in heaven.

My dear precious Howard. Needless to say, I never met Taylor but I remember Aubrey. The only dog that has impacted my life was TECO, Keith's pitbull. Remember her. Keith took her to Olin Mills and had her photo w/him. Memories!!! Yes, they do become a vital part of our families. Just ask Guy! Sorry that I didn't phone you on your birthday so that my name could have been added to your blog. Thought of you anyhow. Blessings, Andrea

Andrea, I still have the dachshund refrigerator magnet you gave me when I had Brandy, which she somehow got a hold of and promptly gnawed! I thought Aubrey would be the first to go, but she's still here, seventeen years and counting . . . . And yes, I remember TECO. I've always loved my extended family's pets like my own. I guess it's okay that you didn't call me on my birthday for once in how long? Especially since I never call you on your special day. However, next year is the big 5-0! Don't forget! Glad to have you as a new reader of my blog. Welcome to the fray, such as it is. Love you, HB

Awwwww, that makes me very sad. I got to spend a little time with Taylor & Aubrey & they are both precious. Can't believe that Taylor left first either. I know just how it feels to lose one of those precious babies. I'm so sorry you had to lose him.

If you find that pic of you &
Tara, please email it to me. I wish I had taken more of her!

Love! Rhoda

Oh, & how great that you got to Jamaica too. NO! I had no idea you were there too to help celebrate. So glad you did. It's beautiful over there. Hope you got to see some sand & water.

I am so sad to hear about Taylor. I do remember his smile and the crazy licking. He was a sweet sweet boy. What a great gift God gave you to take care of him these past 15 years. I have always believed that our pets are an example of God's unconditional love for us. They don't care what we look like, how we smell, or if we are in a bad mood...they just love us. In September I lost my sweet kitty Cleo that I had for 12 years. The times in my life when I felt so down and alone she just loved on me and I would feel better. You will be missed sweet Tatie-Boo.
